Below you will find an example of the behavior chart that I use in my classroom. I believe it is important to establish not only what I consider poor behavior but to also establish what I expect from my students (i.e. good behavior). Therefore, I came up with a behavior chart, which is modified for each class as necessary. In one column, I establish my behavior expectations. In the other, I establish what I consider poor behavior and the consequences should any student choose to engage in that poor behavior. Below that, I outline the steps I will take for dealing with improper behavior. I include at what point I remove students from class, at which point I contact parents, and and which point I seek further repercussions with the principal. This allows students and parents to see the progression that improper behavior may take.
